In Autumn 2022 we moved from Central Finland, to Pirkanmaa and we settled down in a small village surrounded by the forest and lakes. Our idea to move seemed quite good. Pirkanmaa was the area where Ari was born, and we could have had some friends around. However, life is what happens when you make plans and as soon as our child started at the local kindergarten, covid19 entered our door without knocking.
I had had three very difficult years. I was recovering from pre-eclampsia condition (and trauma) when the pandemic broke out. Living in a herd immunity (the so called hybrid strategy) environment after having a very premature child at constant risk of infection was not the best of the best for us.

When the pandemic calmed down, we realized how much the situation had damaged our family and decided for a small change into our lives. We moved through the country hoping for a new start for our family when, again, we had to face the reality: the system was not guaranteeing us or our child the basic needs for a decent living.
The complete oblivion from my employer and acquaintances had open a deep wound in me. Finding a job had become impossible for foreigners with high education level and social inclusion was a suffering subject in Finland.
When you cannot change the world, well, change something you can.
We decided to start to search for what people calls “a place in the sun”.
