Where is Costa Tropical?
Costa Tropical is an area (comarca) of Andalusia. Costa Tropical is served by three international ariports: on the East side Málaga, and on the West side Almería, and obviously in the Northern side Granada.
The most Western village of Costa Tropical is la Herradura, belonging to the municipality of Almuñécar, and the Eastern village is la Rabita, belonging to Albuñol. Between la Herradura and la Rabita there are about 70 km of wonderful sea views.
The Northern part of Costa Tropical is comprised between Lentejì in the West and Albondón in the East. From a touristic point of view, the comarcal borders of Costa Tropical are extremely interesting in every direction.
On the East side there is Axarquia, on the North Valle de Lecrín and the Alpujarra Granadina that decrease into the Sierra del Contraviesa (the are of Costa Tropical including Albondón, Albuñol Sorvilán), and on the East side the Alpujarra Almeriense y el Poniente Almeriense.
What to do in Costa Tropical?
Costa Tropical shows an interesting and various landscape. From the Northern part of the area, the mountains gently overlook the coast. Interesting to know: in 2023, Costa Tropical boasts, 12 Blue Flags. What is more, Castell de Ferro is one of the first coastal towns of Spain audited for receiving the label for sustainable tourism (Marca Sostenibilidad Turística) granted by the Institute for the Touristic Quality of Spain (Instituto para la Calidad Turística Española) for the beaches of Cambriles and el Sotillo. Besides one of the main attractive elements of this area is the sea, the varied landscape, the rich culinary offer, the fascinating historical background of Costa Tropical give the possibility to anyone to tailor experiences according to your own taste. Trekking on the mountains, scuba diving, any sports and outdoor activity, wines and typical food tasting, historical and archaeological excursions, but also nice walks in the wonderful botanic gardens, or lazy days spent on the beach. Anyone can find their place in Costa Tropical.
