Hola!
This blog aims to describe our journey to Spain, trying to mark up the organizational and salient phases of this our experience. Maybe someone else can find, within these pages, a draft for their own project.
We are a family of three: Ari, Paola (me), and our 5 y.o. child.
Ari was born in Finland and he is a professional truck driver. He has traveled a lot around the world and has a passion for motorbikes and cars (of course!).
I am an Italian and moved to Finland 8 years ago to start a PhD in Applied Linguistics using a cognitive neuroscience method. I have also traveled quite a lot since I was 19 y.o. I have lived in several European countries for a bunch of time.
Since 2020 people has started to develop new ideas about their lives for the most disparate reasons. Well, for sure this is how it went for us. What are my needs? How do I get there?
Last year, 2022, we set up a wish list and what we wanted/needed was:
1. a peaceful spot in a warm place, where the sound of birds is louder that the noise of the cities
2. an active community where the values of hospitality and social cohesion are still alive
3. a life style as environmentally sustainable as possible
4. culture, history and traditions
5. good food!
In the Andalusian coast we discovered Costa Tropical, in the province of Granada, where each item of our wish list was checked!
